Werdegang:
Sue Bebié wurde 1958 in Horgen, einer Kleinstadt in der Nähe von Zürich in der Schweiz geboren.
Nach Abschluss der Mittelschule (Musisches Profil) studierte sie an der Universität Zürich während zweier Jahre Pädagogik, Soziologie und Publizistik.
Sie leitete Graffiti-Workshops an verschiedenen Oberstufenschulen und bietet Malkurse für Kinder und Jugendliche an. Sue Bebié ist Autodidaktin. Sie arbeitet als Visual Artist und in einem Teilzeitpensum als Primarlehrerin.
Development:
In 1958 Sue Bebié was born in Horgen, a small town near Zurich Switzerland. After completing highschool with a degree for teaching primary school, she spent two years studying pedagogics, sociology, and journalism at the University of Zurich.
She realized graffiti workshops at different secondary schools and offers courses in drawing and painting for children and teenagers.
Sue is an autodidact. She is currently working as a visual artist and as a part time primary school teacher.
Kunstbeschrieb:
Ihre Malerei ist von mehreren Stilrichtungen beeinflusst. Pop Art mischt sich mit psychedelischer Malerei, und Surrealismus paart sich mit Comic-Style und Graffiti. Auch kalligraphische Elemente finden sich immer wieder in ihren Arbeiten. Wilde Farbschlachten, fein gesteuerte Ergebnisse des Zufalls, gezügelt und gebändigt durch schwarze Konturen, prägen ihren eigenwilligen Stil. Malen ist ein wichtiger Teil ihres Lebens. Sie sagt: „I love the colorful way of life and the bittersweet darkness of a black line.“
Art:
Different styles influence Sue’s Art. Pop art mixes with psychedelic painting; surrealism goes hand in hand with comic style and graffiti. There are also a lot of elements of calligraphy to be found in her art. Her very personal style consists of wild battles of color, subtly directed products of coincidence, tamed and bordered by black outlines. Painting is an important part of Sue’s life. She says: „I love the colorful way of life and the bittersweet darkness of a black line.“
